RESOURCES
Stuff about being trans (specifically FTM), things that might be useful for supporters, & everything discussed on the site
About being transgender/trans/FTM:
Hudson's FTM Resource Guide: considered THE guide for FTMs, this provides a lot of valuable info about surgeries, transitioning, passing, etc
Hormones: A Guide for FTMs: great PDF pamphlet about what being on testostone is like, the different types, effects, etc. Great to bring along to your GP to show you understand what to expect & the risks
Separating Gender Identity from Gender Expression: nice article from Everyday Feminism about how gender identity & gender expression are unique concepts
Transsexualism Blog: a collection of trans science. Articles and studies, great repositry.
Transbucket: Online picture dumping ground for pictures and info about surgical transitions
The Coming Out Workbook: by a church, but don't let that deter you. A handy walkthrough for those facing a mixed or difficult coming out that helps you cope with reactions & plan ahead. Not Jesus-heavy & very affirmative
Ty Turner's Youtube Channel: There's a great FTM community on Youtube that I definiteyl recommend checking out - and if you start with Ty, you can't go wrong. He has a lot of great reviews, talks on the struggle of being trans, his life, & fitness videos. The production value & the stuff he has to say are both great. One of my 2 favorite youtubers.
TheRealAlexBertie: is my OTHER favorite FTM youtube channel! Alex is a super sweet British trans guy who makes fantastic videos - basically on many of the same topics as Ty, with some included being a big bro stuff, but if you don't watch them both you're doing it wrong. Such a fan and he always cheers me up when I'm feeling blue.
For family members/friends/etc:
(some of the resources I listed above may also be of interest to supporters, but these ones are geared specifically towards them)
PFLAG - Welcoming our Trans Family & Friends: Great packet that covers a ton of topics & provides links to other sources. I've sent this along to all family
Trans Youth Family Allies (TYFA) for Parents: a support site for trans allies and family, lots of good info
